Summary

The main objective of this study is to examine the relationships among teachers’ SEC, well-being, and SEL-related practices across diverse sociocultural contexts. This international mixed-methods project involves surveys and interviews with teachers from China, South Korea, and the USA.

Our quantitative study suggests that teachers’ SEC is both a promotive and protective factor for their mental health, while the effects of SEC can vary by school contextual factors.

Our qualitative study explores teachers’ current educational practices for promoting SEL in daily routines, as well as the factors associated with these practices, including teachers’ own SEC and well-being, as well as broader school and societal contexts.
